For journalists to feel confident in the authenticity of SoundOff answers as sources, we are exploring how we can add assurances that the files, the people speaking, and their stories are real.

We are inspired by the work of the Starling Lab for Data Integrity and the Content Authenticity Initiative, and interested in incorporating these frameworks into the SoundOff public archive.
